Description

The first UNM Dean of Women, Lena C. Clauve, commissioned this desk along with a chair, a settee, and two additional chairs for $500 in 1937. Carved decorative elements include a horizontal diamond band centered within incised parallel bands, above and beneath the diamond motif at the top of all four sides. Additional motif below includes mirrored teardop and diamond cutouts. The furniture was made in Santa Fe. 30-1/8 x 52 x 29-3/4 inches.
